Cinema-Friday and discussion with director:
Ostrava premiere of a summer necro-story about a grave robber who with his henchmen sets out on a journey to Vienna in a caravan to return stolen teeth of the composers Strauss and Brahms. The projection will be followed by a discussion with the director.
Documentary fiction / mysterious road movie about the final journey of the teeth of two luminaries of classical music, Johann Strauss and Johanness Brahms. In 2002 the teeth were illegally exhumed from their graves in the Vienna Central Cemetery by Ondrej Jajcaj, a grave robber, self-professed philosopher and artist. Jajcaj and his companions criss-cross the Moravian-Slovak border in a caravan, seeking to fulfil their fates. The caravan becomes a portal into Jajcaj’s world, it swallows random visitors on the journey so that the circle can be closed. In the rhythm of Falco it is calling Vienna to get its sons back to the Heimat.
