As a part of the exhibition They Thought We Were Alive and They Run Screaming, Kem School creates a performance with an international group of its students: it will be the result of two months of preparations taking place in Warsaw and Ostrava. The performance reacts to a number of issues, which have been formulated as a series of questions, such as “How to stage the present moment?”, “What is real in the local?” and “Can we be absent and political?”.

With support of Krytyka Polityczna and Nowy Teatr Warsaw

Special thanks to the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic

Kem School is a study program initiated by the Warsaw-based queer feminist collective Kem. The program is designed to facilitate the development of personal practice and collective ways of working through experimentation and reflection on social choreography and performance. The Kem School was created in response to a local need for alternative art education that facilitates the research of processual art practice and self-organization.
