Exhibitions opening and performance:
We open a stage for performances designed by American artist Than Hussein Clark, a facility for educational programmes by the Czech artist Martin Zet and a presentation area (display) by the Latvian artist Daria Melnikova. Final cycle of a year-round project.
The monumental space for theatre performances, experimental concerts, art performances and discussions was created by the American artist Than Hussein Clark on a plan based on designs by the architect Walter Gropius for the unexecuted building of a “total” theatre from 1925. The facility for educational activities is the work of the Czech artist Maritn Zet who produced a “light” stage with the organic matter of a table which is actually a clay sculpture. A return to what Zet, mostly known for his actions, actually studied: monumental sculpture in the service of education. Daria Melnikova from Latvia approached her display as a stage design, with emphasis on a network of relations between fragments seemingly levitating in the space.
